What Professionals Are Really Asking

It's been eight months since I last wrote here. In that time, I've been listening more than publishing, and what I've been hearing has shaped what I want to write about now.

This year, I've observed something shift for many professionals. As organisations race to adopt AI and digital tools, the conversations I'm having with professionals have changed. The question isn't just "how do I stay relevant?" anymore, it's evolved to something deeper such as "Who am I becoming at work?"

It's a question that emerges when performance dashboards define your professional worth and algorithms shape your day. Something essential can get lost in that process, because people aren't just data points, but also have a need feel seen beyond their output, not just productivity metrics. This isn't a new problem, but digital transformation is amplifying things in ways we're only now beginning to understand, and must keep exploring.

What gives me hope is that many leaders I admire are already asking different questions. Not only about "how do we implement faster and more effectively?" but "how are our people experiencing this?"

If you've noticed or experienced something similar in your organisation this year, I'd be curious to hear what you're seeing.
