If you leave a comment on a blog post, we process the information you submit in the comment and associated technical information needed to operate the blog (for example, timestamp and security/anti-spam data). Comments may be publicly visible depending on blog settings.
E. Website technical data (cookies and similar technologies)
When you browse our website, we (and our website platform) may process technical data such as IP address, browser/device information, pages visited, and cookie identifiers, depending on your cookie choices.
Special category data (sensitive information)
Career coaching can sometimes involve sensitive topics (for example health, disability/neurodiversity, or other personal circumstances). We do not ask for sensitive data via our website as standard. If you choose to share sensitive information during coaching, we will only process it where it is necessary and where we have a lawful basis and an additional condition under UK data protection law (see section 4).
3) How we use your data
We use your personal data to:
-
respond to enquiries and provide information you request;
-
deliver the services you book (including scheduling and administration);
-
deliver the guide/resource you requested;
-
maintain and secure our website and blog, including preventing misuse;
-
keep appropriate business records and comply with legal and accounting obligations.
4) Our lawful bases for processing
We rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR, depending on the context:
-
Contract / steps prior to entering a contract:
-
Where you book (or ask to book) coaching or services, and we need your details to provide the service or take steps you request.
-
Legitimate interests:
-
For running and improving our business (for example responding to enquiries, website security, record-keeping, and service improvement). We only rely on this where our interests are not overridden by your rights.
-
Legal obligation:
-
Where we must keep records for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.
Consent:
Where required by law, such as for non-essential cookies and (if we introduce it) direct marketing to individuals by email.
If we ever send marketing emails, you will be asked to opt in first, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Special category data:
If we process sensitive information you voluntarily share, we will only do so with an appropriate additional condition (for example explicit consent where required) and with extra safeguards.
5) Who we share data with (our processors)
We share personal data only where necessary with trusted providers who help us run our website and deliver services, for example:
-
Website hosting/platform provider (site operations, forms, blog functionality);
-
Acuity Scheduling (appointment booking and scheduling);
-
SendFox (email delivery for requested guides/resources and contact management);
-
Professional advisers where necessary (e.g., accountant, insurer, legal advisers).
6) International transfers
Some of our providers may process or store personal data outside the UK. Where this happens, we use appropriate safeguards required under UK data protection law.
7) How long we keep your data (retention)
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected.
Typical retention periods:
-
Enquiries (no client relationship): up to 12 months after last contact.
-
Guide/resource delivery contacts: until the resource has been delivered and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle follow-up support requests (typically up to 12 months), unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
-
Client administration and service records: for the duration of services and then typically up to 6 years after the relationship ends (to handle legal claims and business record-keeping).
-
Accounting/tax records: retained for the period required by law.
8) Your rights
You have rights under UK data protection law, including the right to:
access your data;
-
correct inaccurate data;

We use cookies and similar technologies. Where cookies are non-essential (for example analytics/marketing cookies), we will ask for your consent through a cookie banner and provide information about what cookies do and why we use them.
10) Security
