If You're In Consultation (Or Just Watched Your Colleagues Walk Out With Their Box)
Let's not pretend the workplace or the job market is looking rosy.
If you've had the "at risk" conversation, sat through collective consultation meetings, or you're currently in your notice period wondering what on earth comes next, you're not alone. Redundancies are everywhere right now. And even if you haven't been directly affected, you've definitely seen it happen to someone in your organisation or your team.
Here's the part no one's says out loud: the jobs you'd normally pivot to? They're not there in abundance. Hiring's down but is not as bad compared to pre-pandemic levels. Companies are sitting on their hands, waiting to see which way the wind blows. So what are you supposed to do until they’re ready to hire in droves? Panic-apply to 57 roles on LinkedIn at 2am and hope something sticks?
Well, there's another option. Use this as your chance to build something different.
I'm not talking toxic positivity or "everything happens for a reason", although it's sometimes true. Redundancy is brutal. But if you were already stuck in a role that was draining you, this might be the push you needed to ask: what do I actually want from my career?
Even if it’s going to be automated by AI, what energises me in my career or what do I want to explore?
Start here: Download my [Career Change Readiness Guide]. Figure out where you actually are in this mess and what's blocking you. A lot of the time, it’s not always what you think it is.
Then book a career strategy call with me. We'll map out what's next, whether you're on your 12 weeks' notice or if your last day at work was on Friday. No manifestation. Just space, time and strategy.
